Australia is burning, here's how you can help
As an Australian citizen with half her family across the continent, this is very near and dear to my heart. These fires are unprecedented. They have devastated millions of animals and over 12 million acres. Literally half a billion animals have died and counting..koalas, kangaroos, platypus, many of which were already endangered.
You may have noticed, we’ve been p silent online the last week or so.. It feels impossible to post anything work or beauty related while an entire continent is burning. We don’t deserve to have animals on the same planet as us. Please donate, we will be doing the same. Below are some ways you can help our beloved Australia.
Port Macquarie Koala Hospital The organization has a GoFundMe page seeking funding for koalas affected by the bushfires.
Wires New South Wales' Wildlife Information, Rescue, and Education Service rescues and cares for animals and is seeking donations for volunteer carers and rescuers.
Australian Red Cross Disaster Recovery and Relief The Red Cross supports a variety of efforts, such as helping people at evacuation centers and providing emergency assistance like cash grants to people who have lost their homes.
Salvation Army Disaster Appeal Salvation Army team members are providing meals to first-line responders and evacuees and offering other support.
GIVIT GIVIT is an Australian organization that matches donated goods with items that are specifically requested by victims of the fires. People have asked for things like car batteries, fence posts and gas pumps.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Bushfire Appeal (NSW) Vinnies' bushfire appeal helps provide food, clothing, and money that bushfire victims may need to pay their bills.
NSW Rural Fire Service You can donate straight to the fire service or to your local Rural Fire Brigade to support volunteer firefighters.
Victoria Country Fire Authority Bushfire Disaster Appeal Like with the Rural Fire Service, you can donate to a specific brigade or provide a general donation.
Victorian Bushfire Appeal The Victorian government teamed up with the Salvation Army and Bendigo Bank for the appeal, saying that all funds go to communities in need.
Please let us know if we missed any great organizations in the comments, below! xx
